Templates are reusable messages you can fire into any chat with a single keystroke. They support variables, attachments, and even quick-reply buttons.

Template libraryTemplate library

Create a template

  1. Tools → Templates → + New template.
  2. Give it a name (e.g. welcome) and a body.
  3. Use {name}, {first_name}, or any CRM field as variables.
  4. Optionally attach an image, doc, or audio file.
  5. Save.

Fire a template from any chat

Three ways:

  • Slash trigger — in the WhatsApp composer, type /welcome. Effess intercepts the slash command, replaces it with the template body, and shows a preview before sending.
  • Tools panel — open the dock → Templates → click any → choose chat from the dropdown.
  • Auto-reply — link a template as the action of any rule (see auto-reply).

Variables resolved

When the template fires, variables are filled from the contact's CRM record. If a field is missing, Effess falls back to a sensible default (e.g. {name} → "there") instead of leaving the literal {name} in your message.

Folders & sharing

Group templates into folders (e.g. Sales, Support, Onboarding). Right-click any folder → Export as JSON to share with teammates. They can import via Tools → Templates → Import.

Limits

  • Up to 500 templates per browser profile.
  • Max 4096 characters per template body.
  • Attachments up to 16 MB (WhatsApp limit).
